St Patrick's Day Dog Treats (with Trader Joe's Dog Biscuit Mix)

This recipe uses a pre-made mix from Trader Joe's, plus customization for a green dough.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 package Trader Joe's Dog Biscuit Mix (See other recipe for scratch-made version)
  • 3/4 cup Chicken Broth
  • 3/4 cup Frozen Green Beans
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Parsley
  • 2 Tbsp Chopped Basil or Mint
  • 1 Tbsp Coconut Oil (or vegetable oil)
  • 1 package Trader Joe's Freeze-Dried Apple Slices

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350* and line baking sheets with parchment paper
  • Assemble your ingredients.

  • Pour Trader Joe's dog biscuit mix into a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  • In a small blender, combine 1/2 of the chicken broth, green beans, parsley and basil and blend until smooth.
  • Pour the green bean mixture and the remaining chicken broth into the biscuit mix and stir to combine. Mixture will be crumbly.
  • Add coconut oil and combine using your hands to press the dough together.
  • Crush freeze-dried apple sliced and fold them into the dough.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough to a 1/4 inch thickness and cut dough to desired shape.
  • Place cut-out biscuits on your prepared pan.
  • Bake for 20 minutes. Then turn the biscuits over and bake an additional 20 minutes. The biscuits are done when they are lightly brown, crispy and dry.
  • Store biscuits in the refrigerator or freezer.
